What countries have we improved our relations with since Obama became president?
Q. I ask this question in earnest, not to score a punch at Obama, and I'm not a foreign affairs expert. Obama campaigned about how awful Bush was for our international relationships. Yet I can't think of a single ally where our relations have improved. Relations with the Britain, France, and Israel have all deteriorated significantly, nor do I see improvement with Germany, Mexico, Japan, Canada or any other state. So can someone give me an honest, objective answer -- 3 countries that we are closer to today than under Bush? How about even just one?

How have the fundamentals of the economy improved since the presidential election?
Q. During the presidential campaign, Obama said McCain was out of touch for saying the fundamentals of the economy were strong. When Obama was pushing the spending program he said the economy was in bad shape and would fail if we didn't pass the bill. Now he says the economy isn't as bad as some people say and the fundamentals of the economy are strong. Is he saying that the fundamentals of the economy have improved because he passed the bill or is there something else I'm missing?
Asked by Tommy - Mon Mar 16 17:09:05 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments
A. 1. The bill is needed to stimulate consumption, and the one of the right object to spend the government money is fundamental fields. 2. Emphasis on strong fundamentals of the economy is encouraging investors and consumers to invest and consume more. This is a very hard question to answer for me because I'm not sure if I should write additional explanations in economics. And, If yes, on how degree. For example, government spending can off-set economic leakages. It's over 11 pm. It's time for me to go to sleep. :(

Wouldn't American education be improved with a heavier focus on foreign languages?
Q. I've spent a little bit of time in other countries. In India, for instance, at least the good schools, the students spend a great deal of time learning English. At American schools, even good ones, foreign languages are quite an ancillary subject. Wouldn't our education be improved with an increased focus on foreign languages? Fluency in another language only improves the understanding of your own.

How to combining images for improved picture?
Q. I've seen enough talk of panorama, hdr, and layer manipulation with masks (Photoshop CS3), but I want to take several pictures and merge them together (stack them) for an improved image. These pictures are not aligned (though they are all the same size/dimensions), they all overlap greatly, and their exposures and color hues vary; sometimes I used a filter and overtime the hue of the sky changed. What should I do?

How do I know if my Wii has the new and improved strap?
Q. I bought a sealed and with receipt Wii off of craigslist. It works great and I'm happy with the purchase. But how do I know if the Wii has the new and improved strap?
Asked by HomeSweetSiliconValley - Tue Feb 6 23:45:50 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Just go to Nintendo's web site and search for the wrist strap recall. It will ask you to enter your Wii's serial number, and if it determines that you don't have the newest strap, it will ask you to enter some more info. If it has the newest strap, then it should tell you that you have the newest strap. Basically, if you got the Wii after December 2006, then you have the newest straps.

What do you want to see improved in your food?
Q. I am a Molecular Gastronomist (basically a food scientist), at the University of Bristol in the UK, and my team have just finished creating a Jello that is instantly formed when you mix two liquids! Now I need a new project and I am wondering what everyone wants to change in their food. So, what do want to see improved in your food? and why? It can be anything to do with texture, looks, method of preparation, taste, smell etc. The best answer may very well be my next project.

A. How about fruit that stays fresher longer after being picked? I have raspberry bushes in my garden and the raspberries go off after just a day, so they must be eaten straight away. BTW, Jello is an American term, so it seems strange that someone in the UK would use that term, as they call it jelly over here.
